The Fortress

This publication accompanies the Dutch entry for the 61st edition of La Biennale di Venezia. Dries Verhoeven presents The Fortress. In collaboration with curator Rieke Vos, Verhoeven brings performance art to the Dutch Pavilion and makes the building itself part of the work through an architectural installation. This publication contains texts by Dries Verhoeven and Rieke Vos, alongside contributions by Bas Heijne, Maurits de Bruijn and Eric Otieno Sumba. La Biennale di Venezia runs from 9 May to 22 November 2026.

Deze publicatie verschijnt ter gelegenheid van de Nederlandse inzending voor de 61e editie van La Biennale di Venezia. Dries Verhoeven presenteert The Fortress. In samenwerking met curator Rieke Vos brengt Verhoeven performancekunst naar het Nederlands paviljoen en maakt hij het gebouw zelf onderdeel van het werk door middel van een architectonische installatie. Deze uitgave bevat teksten van Dries Verhoeven en Rieke Vos, naast bijdragen van auteurs Bas Heijne, Maurits de Bruijn en Eric Otieno Sumba. La Biennale di Venezia vindt plaats van 9 mei tot en met 22 november 2026.
