Beyond the Cold War

Contextualizes how rhetoric has helped and hindered the development of democratic principles in Central and Eastern Europe in the decades past the period of "transition." By examining the rhetoric of leaders and exchanges between them, this book argues for treating the leaders of the region with their own agency, rather than as agents of others.
