The Consolation of Otherness
The Male Love Elegy in Milton, Gray and Tennyson
Samenvatting
This work examines the relationships between Milton and Diodati, Gray and West, and Tennyson and Hallam through a critical study of Milton's "Epitaphium Damonis", Gray's "Elegy", and Tennyson's "In Memoriam". It shows how their concepts of otherness and difference provided comfort after loss.
