Tears in Rain

In the same way a photograph captures a moment, the poems in this collection serve as snapshots of thought, emotion, and experience. They hold within them the fleeting essence of a single instant, a transient image frozen in time. Like Polaroids, they develop quickly, capturing a scene or a feeling, inviting you to linger and reflect on the delicate details. These snapshots contain not only beauty but also the raw, unfiltered truths of life; preserving a broad spectrum of human experience. Most moments captured are small and mostly anonymous, experienced by few, sometimes only by one. And as moments pass and memories fade, so too will the experience of these poems fade into time, like tears in rain.

Dax Hassell (1972) is a poet and emergency medicine physician. He was born in Aruba, where he spent his childhood cheerfully running around. He lived in the United States until young adulthood and is now settled in the Netherlands. His poetic style is introspective and symbolic, employing minimalism to explore profound themes. Some of his poems also feature unexpected shifts and surprising elements. An earlier poetry collection published by him was 'Head Sketching Discoveries', which appeared in 1997.
