Caz Vanhoven, Vincent Jones' cousin, who lives in the Netherlands, has come to Sydney by invitation to present his book. The theme of the book is the emigration of his uncle and aunt, Vincent's parents.

Through the letters of yore that Caz has been allowed to use for his novel, he has learned facts, totally unknown to Vincent. Events, which put the whole experience of earlier in a totally different light. Caz even managed to find out a name: Lucas Armstrong: the former partner of Vincent's father.

Lucas Armstrong tells a story no one could have imagined. A truth that might have been better left under the rug.
What can Vincent do with this and how much does it affect him? Will he get the answers he wanted to hear or will only more questions arise?
