Kingship in the Mycenaean World and Its Reflections in the Oral Tradition
Samenvatting
Motivated by the problems of defining the extent and nature of kingship in the Mycenaean world, this book surveys studies of the Linear B tablets, contrasts these theories with knowledge of the Mycenaean kingdoms gained from the archaeological record and compares this evidence with the oral tradition, specifically in the Iliad and Odyssey.
