This study re-evaluates Neolithic funerary practices in the Alsace plain (5300–4000 BC), using an expanded burial corpus and comparative analysis rooted in social anthropology. It challenges assumptions of egalitarianism by identifying differentiated burial wealth and proposes socially segmented groups with male-dominated economic roles.
