The Making of Mbano

This book studies the Mbano colonial experience in Southeastern Nigeria and the ways African people invoked their pre-colonial socio-cultural, political, and economic values in their reactions to colonization. The author analyzes intersections of foreign and indigenous ideas of community, culture, and gender in the Mbano colonial identity.
