Meant by the author as serving as a Jubilee record of the Queen Victoria’s reign, it covers the topics of highways, the water supply of London from the seventeenth century, local authorities before and after the Conquest, corporation of the City of London, Marine life and fire insurance, the Docks on the Thames, Fees on private bills and preliminary inquiries and public legislation.
