B. Aesthetics

The three books reprinted here investigate the philosophy of the aesthetic experience. Bosanquet's writing demonstrates how leading thinkers in different periods of the world's history have conceived the place and value of beauty in human life. Muirhead's work, founded on neglected manuscript remains, provides insight into Coleridge's philosophical opinions and carves out for him an important place in the history of English Philosophy. Finally, Reid's study discusses many of the seminal topics encompassed by the subject - the language of criticism, expression, emotion, symbols, knowledge, truth, revelation, representative and abstract arts.
