Piano Trio

for piano, violin, and cello
Written at the request of the Lawson Trio, this gracefully structured work contrasts atmospheric lyrical writing with bursts of turbulent fast music, including a rather rough and wild scherzo. The three inner movements are based on English folk songs (The Lover's Ghost, Ratcliffe Highway, and The Trees they Grow so High).
Piano Trio has been recorded by the Lawson Trio on the Premie Facie Label (CD no. PFC012).
